The Boys and Girls Club offers after-school and summer programs for students in first through fifth grades. The Clinton & Gloria John Clubhouse is located at 409 NE Anderson Rd. Students may take the bus from Anderson Elementary for an additional nominal fee.

Athletics

Athletics are a fun way for students to learn sportsmanship and get exercise. Girls and boys in fourth and fifth grades can participate in volleyball, basketball and track at Anderson.

Choir

The Anderson choir, led by music teacher Linda Wear, performs at school functions and community events. For students in third through fifth grades, the choir practices once per week after school from October to June. For more information, please email linda.wear@vansd.org or call 360-313-1500.

Safety patrol

Anderson fifth-graders have an opportunity to show their responsibility and leadership as a member of the school safety patrol. Working with adults, the safety patrol helps students and parents safely cross nearby streets before and after school. Interested students may apply with Associate Principal Katie Arkoosh.

Student leadership team

Anderson fifth-graders can apply for the student leadership team. The team of motivated girls and boys is responsible for daily school announcements and school spirit activities. The team, which meets daily at lunch, rotates three times each year to give more students an opportunity to serve their school community.
